Even if we do not currently have a letter writing campaign underway, feel free to write letters to your elected officials expressing your strong support for making English the official language of the United States. Members of Congress pay more attention to letters from their constituents than to telephone calls. Take the time to write, even if it is just a brief note. Click here for a sample letter to your elected officials. Be sure to state the bill number for the legislation you are writing to support. In the House, this is H.R. 997, the English Language Unity Act. Use specific arguments, being persuasive and demanding. Don’t just inform them of your opinion, go further and request them to:
